PLE and Me
To me, Personal Learning Environment= my personal tools + the people in my online network and how I interact with their tools.
I think that teaching skills to represent oneself online and to make connections with others is more important for a library/ tertiary education institution than providing tools. I am thinking particularly of e-portfolios, which are just a Content Management System, but are designed to be life long and *personal*. It seems to me a travesty to suggest that any institution (with which one will only be temporarily associated) should provide them. Portability of data is much more important.
Also thinking about how I want to use *my* tools , not have the provided - and just how personal these are. I want to bring my own laptop, have my own configuration and I can even bring my own bag to conferences.
